Welcome to Mineral County High School, home of the Serpents
Our goal is to be a school where young minds are nurtured, dreams are encouraged, and potential is realized. We take pride in building a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment for students to learn, grow, and thrive.
At MCHS, our mission is to guide students to realize and achieve their greatest potential through the combined efforts of students, staff, parents, and community, so they may become productive and responsible citizens, lifelong learners, and respectful individuals.
Mineral County School District creates a safe and equitable learning environment that honors everyone’s cultures and identities and provides all students the opportunities and support they need to thrive. We spark students’ curiosity and prepare students with the academic, social, and emotional skills they need for college, career, and life. We uplift our students to be confident, kind, and loving community leaders who graduate ready for their future and are successful at whatever they choose.
- Character: We show respect for one another, we have integrity, are accountable to one another, and are honest and transparent in how we make decisions.
- Belonging: We work together as a team and create a community that honors the unique differences of each member. We promote an inclusive culture so that everyone feels connected and supported.
- Growth: We work hard, take risks, adapt, and learn from our mistakes so that we can continually achieve at higher levels.
- Equity and Opportunity: We believe everyone should receive the opportunities and resources they need to learn and achieve their goals.
MCHS is proud to have a team of dedicated and passionate educators who are committed to the success of every student. Our faculty members have a deep commitment to our community and students.
Our school boasts Chromebooks for each student. We have a new and vertically aligned English and math curriculum that is being implemented in grades 9-12 this year.
Science and social studies will be aligned and implemented in 2024/2025.
In addition to academic excellence, we believe in the importance of extracurricular activities that promote personal development and teamwork. Students participate in Academic Olympics and have the potential to participate in CTSOs in the near future.
We encourage active participation from parents, families, and the community and have developed a parent engagement calendar to encourage our families to participate in the education of their students. Building strong partnerships with parents is vital to the success of our students, and we believe in open communication and collaboration.
